Team Jett is Jett Foundation’s endurance athletic event series that takes place each summer. Across road races, triathlons, bike rides, and more, Team Jett helps raise vital funds and awareness for the Duchenne muscular dystrophy community.
One of our race stops this summer was the Cohasset Triathlon, an annual event held at Sandy Beach in Cohasset, MA for over 1400 participants. Athletes have the option of completing the whole triathlon (¼-mile swim, 12-mile bike, 3.1-mile run) or just one leg as part of a team relay. Team Jett brought 15 participants to the course on June 23, 2024, making for a very successful day by the beach.
The rain and humid conditions didn’t slow down Lisa Drennan, a long-time supporter of Jett Foundation and participant at the Cohasset Triathlon for five years in a row. She says, “Participating in the Cohasset Triathlon as part of Team Jett holds a special place in my heart. Having known Jett’s family since before they started the foundation, I am deeply committed to raising money and awareness for individuals affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. For me, participating in the race and the training leading up to it is a reminder of the strength and resilience that those with DMD and their families face daily. I am honored to contribute to this cause that means so much to me.”
Team Jett participants not only raise awareness for Duchenne and rock our logo on race day, but raise vital funds that directly support our community. With support from those on our endurance teams, we can continue to provide programs and resources that wrap around the entire family living with Duchenne, such as support groups, workshops, awareness days, and more. Our 2024 Cohasset Triathlon team raised $10,000 through fundraising efforts.
Jett’s Development Events Manager, Emily Hubert, shares: “We are grateful to all who took on the triathlon and messy weather conditions with us this year! The commitment and dedication we see at these events make a huge difference in the Duchenne community. The Jett team can’t wait for more events ahead!”
